Land and Sea Adventures

New for 2018, the NBJ Summit is introducing the Terranea Resort’s Land and Sea Adventures. On Wednesday afternoon, we are offering multiple activities including ocean kayaking along the Terranea Resort coastline, a whale watching expedition, guided coastal hike and stand up paddle boarding with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.

Join in on an NBJ Summit tradition! Enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and sea (a possible see a whale or two). The spectator boat allows you to enjoy a beverage and light appetizers while network in a relaxed atmosphere.

Start Location: Please meet the bus outside at Point Discovery adjacent to the Sea Beans Cafe. Look for the YELLOW sign!
Activity Notes: We suggest wearing comfortable athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat or sunglasses.

Guided Coastal Hike

Get the full effect of Terranea on the Discovery Trail. Surrounding the eco resort in Palos Verdes, the trail is filled with indigenous plants and wildlife. The Terranea guided hike stops at a variety of spectacular viewing points including the Point Vicente lighthouse and the Terranea Sea Salt Conservatory. As you walk along our coastal trails, our naturalist will point out local flora and fauna.

Start Location:  Your adventure guide will meet you at Point Discovery adjacent to the Sea Beans Café.

Activity Notes: This is a moderately physical activity. We suggest wearing comfortable athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat or sunglasses. Participants must be 4 years or older.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Paddle boarding along the Palos Verdes coast is an unforgettable experience! Guided by a Terranea skilled instructor, you will test your core strength while paddling through amazing kelp beds along the shoreline. Gliding above the kelp forest, an endless eco-system often referred to as an underwater rainforest, you will have a unique view of the ever changing ocean landscape. You’ll have the best seat in the house!

Start Location: Your adventure guide will meet you at Discovery Point to walk you down to the cove. Head down to the cove early and soak up the Vitamin D!
Stand up paddle boarding will be available for one (1) hour sessions at the times listed below:
2:30 – 3:30pm | 3:45 – 4:45pm | 5:00 – 6:00pm

Activity Notes: We suggest wearing comfortable swimwear. You will get wet! This is a moderately physical activity and you must be a proficient swimmer. Participants must be 10 years or older.

Ocean Kayaking

Paddle through the stunning kelp beds along the Terranea coastline. This underwater forest is home to the California marine state fish, the Garibaldi, bottlenose dolphins, seals & sea lions. If you’re lucky you may even see a whale! Experience the Catalina Channel’s famous underwater reserve on one of Terranea’s stable, sit-on-top tandem kayaks.Highly experienced instructors offer a safe, fun, and informative tour, pointing out highlights as you paddle.

Start Location: Your adventure guide will meet you at Discovery Pointe to walk you down to the cove, or head down to the cove early and soak up the Vitamin D!

Activity Notes: All necessary equipment included (2 people per Kayak). We suggest wearing comfortable swimwear. You will get wet! This is a moderately physical activity and you must be a proficient swimmer. Participants must be 8 years or older.

Ocean kayaking will be available for hour and a half (1.5) sessions at the times listed below:
2:30 – 4:00pm | 4:30 – 6:00pm
